The organic quality of the plan is based on early Greek settlements where gatherings and debating were part of the lifestyle.

The intent of the design was not to create large monoliths but allow a natural growth of the building that would relate to the human scale. In hindsight perhaps the plan was a little too unorganized for a university that was to set the standards of research in India. This project tested my mind and design skills intensely. Years later jury member Habib Rehman told me that they had debated the design for some time but had to dismiss it due to the concepts not being presented more professionally.
