Commissioned by Welcomgroup to rebuild and redesign a hotel that had been started by a local company, brought about a traditional facade dictated by planning laws in Bhutan. Working in Bhutan was a new experience and one could immerse oneself into colour and craft. Much of the decoration was done by monks living close by who later blessed the building with the blowing of long trumpets.

Chinese carpenters driven away from Kolkata during the 1962 war, were used for the interiors and achieved admirable results. An intense period of travel and work brought the project to completion within a period of 9 months.
