This design attempts to adapt the elements of a colonial bungalow using simple construction methods. The extensive landscape allowed for small pavilions to form a composition of spaces and have a home in a garden.

Built with 13" thick brick walls, to allow both surfaces to be exposed and to make the interior cooler. Roofs were spanned with steel girders and Agra stone slabs eliminating the use of shuttering. A 2" thick concrete was laid to a slope on top and waterproofed with thin roof bricks that are used in North India. The house was built using two masons and two helpers and was completed in 3 months. It took another two months to complete the toilets, woodwork and finishes. A low cost home that managed to be comfortable and elegant to live in.
