The retreat was designed as a spacious hideaway close to Delhi. Ten acres of guava orchard was later planted along with many other trees to make it a woodland.

Local materials such as slate and granite were used to build the house while teak made up the doors and windows. Floors were done in Kotah and Jaisalmer stone introducing luxury at a reasonable price. The project was completed entirely by the architects who had to design, build and furnish the interiors.
