Unfortunately the peace in Kashmir was broken and threw the state into turmoil. The day I made my presentation, the city was deserted and we were given an army escort. I had the dubious honour of being the only guest at the Srinagar conference center, a stunning building designed by Joseph Stein. It was a disappointing day but a memorable one as the city was covered with snow. The snow had fallen in the night leaving the course and surroundings a spectacular white by day break.
