In order to have a more inward looking house and keep the urban build-up at bay, this residence is an attempt to connect (visually) courts and allow the house to look onto the garden. Large windows let in a great deal of light and sunshine.

Service areas have been kept to one side, while bedrooms are located on the first floor for privacy. The style of the house has been inspired from the old suburban houses of Chennai that were built in the 1920s and 30s. These homes were a mix of art deco and colonial detail. The design is whimsical but living in it has been pleasurable.
