Himmatsinka Seide is a company that is among the world's finest silk manufacturers. Although their production is completely devoted to industrial methods, they felt the need to work with traditional weavers from South India. In order to do this they wanted to build a workshop to accommodate the weavers and their looms. There was also a need for a guesthouse for the number of designers who visited the factory from abroad.

The building was to have been built using compressed mud block and the platform made of granite. The domes were spanned using the same block as used in the walls.
