A place to learn Vipassana meditation, this centre is situated in Nagarjunakonda, the birthplace of Nagarjuna. He was known as the second Buddha in his time and founded the Nalanda University and conceived the concept of Shunyata.

The design was evolved in the form of a small village with separate rooms like houses along pathways that followed the contours of the land. The small meditation (Dhamma) hall is now operative but the master plan has a large hall, a Stupa and dining areas along with an equal number of living units on the other side of the main hall.

The site overlooks the magnificent Nagarjuna Lake that was created by the dam that harnesses the water of the Krishna River.
