Solar energy is used to pump water and their electricity needs are met through photovoltaic cells. A low voltage powered fence has been installed to keep away animals, including elephants that used to damage the crop.

Compressed mud blocks were made on the site. The residence consists of two bedrooms with a central living space and an annexe used for guests. The roof structure was made of coconut wood from trees that had stopped yielding. Cashew oil was used to protect the wood from termites and a team of carpenters put up the roof in two weeks. The spacious house has been very comfortable to live in and has been built at a fraction of the cost of a city home.
